Finders Keepers Wrap Up...

Oh it feels good to be back in blogland!

I have been missing in action for far too long! 

The past couple of months have been quite hectic, and I have recently found it hard to get back in touch with my artistic self. 

Recently I packed my goodies up and ventured down south for a work-related holiday.

I had the nicest time in Sydney -  catching up with family, sight seeing, checking out the local produce markets and meeting fanciful folk at Carraige works Finders Keepers. 

I was so lucky to catch up with the cool kids from Made By White, Leeloo and finally showering Dawn Tan with some much deserved verbal affection. 

I met a few blogland / facebook followers too, which is what makes the trip all worthwhile. 

One particularly classy lady, the dame behind one of my fave blogs Sincerely Lola made the trip to the markets especially to say hello! 

We had a splendid time having chit chats, and she was kind enough to let me share her photographs of my stall.

So, in summation, this trip to Sydney was by far the best working holiday I have ever had, and fingers crossed I will be down there again during 2012.

Finders Keepers Summer Markets

THIS WEEKEND FOLKS!

The Brisbane Finders Keepers Markets are on! 

Get on down to the Old Museum on Gregory Terrace (in the Valley) for some awesome times. 

I have plenty of goodies for sale, so mosey on into Studio 3 and to pick up some Christmas goodies, or just say hello in general! 

It is seriously my favourite time of year to meet and greet many wonderful Brisbane Dwellers. 

Please come along - Promise you will have a good time.

Finders Keepers Wrap Up...

What a busy fortnight! This post would have come sooner if I hadn't jumped on a plane 24 hours after the weekend of the Brisbane Finders Keepers Markets. Holidays are fun (so are holiday related drawings and photos... which are soon to come!) 

I had an amazing weekend, I find it's the best way to catch up with old friends and make new ones. I met many blogland followers and had chats with loved ones I literally hadn't seen in years! There is no way I could have kept it all together if it weren't for the behind the scenes family and friends whom all stepped in and helped me in the lead up, and on the day. 

I would like to extend a huge thank you to Jazzyfizzle and her Boyfriend Kris for taking plenty of happy snaps of the day, along with Dani for a fabulous montage of shots, which all contributed to making this post super photoriffic.

Oh gosh it's good to be back!

I have missed blogging immensely, but have been all kinds of busy in the lead up to the Finders Keepers Markets. 

I'm pushing to have a new range of t-shirts ready to launch at the Markets this July, with a Photoshoot, and launch party / exhibition to follow. 

The collection will be titled "Out of the Woods", featuring a whole lot of fancy Autumn themed imagery for boys and girls. 

I can't say too much more for now, but here is a sneaky peak of what's in store:

I think I enjoy this one so much I'm going to get some A3 prints of it.

FINDERS KEEPERS

Holy Schmokes!

I have been a bad blogger lately - but it's all for a good cause! (I suppose?)

I recently received my acceptance email into the Brisbane Winter Finders Keepers Markets, and was so excited that I did a little dance (in all of it's uncoordinated glory).

For me, it's time to buckle down and get some more goodies together. 

There will be more dollybabe clotheslines, plus fancy fellow clotheslines, stickers, letter sets, new prints, and hopefully a t-shirt line for sale at my little stall.  

Pencil July 2nd & 3rd into your busy schedules Brisbanites!

Drawn From Fashion Exhibition

Whose a lucky girl? I was so delighted to the point that I did a mini dance when I received an email from the girls from Leeloo inviting me to be a part of  ‘Drawn From Fashion, an exhibition showcasing and celebrating emerging Australian designers and young fashion illustrators and artists.

The artworks created must be based upon or inspired by  previous L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival runway events.

Some of my favorite artists such as Courtney Brims, Pilgrim Lee, Sarah McNeil, Racket, Beth Emily, lalita lu, Meeri Anneli, Elisa Mazzone, Erin Flannery, Emma Leonard, Kelly Smith, Catherine Campbell, Jessica Singh, Pippa McManus and Bec Winnel will have a range of diverse works on display.

On The Wall Exhibition.

I have recently whipped up an A3ish sized artwork (9"x12") for Leeloo's On the Wall exhibition which will be held at the Sydney Finder's Keeper's Markets this Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th of December. 

I painted this picture on A4 paper at first, then realised I had my dimensions all wrong (Doh!).

So I re-did this one over night after buying some really thick watercolour card,

and totally fell in love with texture of it (no creasing or ripples = Hooray)

Finders Keepers Spring Markets

Wowzers. What a crazy awesome weekend!

I think it's taken me a good 36 hours to catch up from it!

The Spring Finders Keepers was simply delightful - the sun was out, and all the young trendies in Brisbane came out to play!

I met some really pleasant folk throughout the whole weekend.

It was so humbling to have people go out of their way to visit and say nice things about my art!

AND I had no stock left! I went in with 70 prints and left with 10!

The car load of stuff that was carted to the Old museum on the Friday was compacted to a couple of half empty suitcases come Sunday. What a good feeling!

I met the sensational Flossy-P, Courtney Brims, caught up with Alana from Little Jane Street and got two hang out with two of my favourite art babes 

Angela and Renee from Leeloo. 

I was so busy that I didn't even get a chance to see the third room at the museum. Biggest. Regret. Ever.

But there's always next time!
